Dear East Rochester Chamber member or friend:
We are hard at work planning our two major 2019 philanthropic events – CleanSweep and the Karknocker 5K Race/Walk.
The 12th-annual CleanSweep is planned for the morning of Saturday, May 18. Small teams of volunteers will clean up 20 designated areas throughout the Town/Village, including all four parks. We will again provide coffee and treats before we head out, and the event will wrap up around 11:30-11:45. All volunteers (who must be at least 10 years old or have completed fourth grade) will receive a CleanSweep t-shirt to keep. Thank you in advance to everyone who joins us to help CleanSweep our beautiful little village!
The 22nd-annual Karknocker 5K Race/Walk is set for 7 pm Friday, July 19. The flat course through the Town/Village starts and ends at the East Rochester school campus. The first 300 registrants will receive a charcoal gray DriFit t-shirt and participation medal, and proceeds will continue to benefit the Finger Lakes Regional Burn Association. We'll need help at the registration area and the three water stations, among other tasks – and you’ll receive a silver-gray volunteer t-shirt! Please note that volunteers are strongly encouraged to attend a meeting at the Eyer Building from 6-6:30 pm Tuesday, July 16, to receive safety training, assignments, and shirts/vests. If you'd like to participate, please email us at email@example.com, or Doreen DiNardo at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Your support of these two events is vital to their – and the Chamber's – success. You can participate in the following ways:
Sponsorship – Several levels, ranging from $150 to $5,000, are available for both events. Your logo will appear on the commemorative t-shirts and various pre- and post-event promotional materials. If you're interested in being a sponsor, please click here.
Volunteers – We'd love to have you and your staff, family, and friends help out with CleanSweep and/or the Karknocker. Both are fun events that won't take a lot of time! If you'd like to participate in either or both, just email us at email@example.com.
Also, the ER Parks Committee will again be collecting scrap metal at CleanSweep. This project helps maintain and replace the trees in our parks. Please consider donating any scrap metal you have to this worthy cause!
More information about both events is on our Website, under the 'calendar & upcoming events' tab. If you have any questions, please contact me or our Communications Director, Doreen DiNardo, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
On behalf of the Chamber Board, I sincerely thank you for your participation and support of our community!
Martin G. D’Ambrose
President, East Rochester Chamber of Commerce
